I love having a mobileme account. And you don’t have to pay the full price from apple. I have saved a ton of money each year by going on ebay and renewing my subscription. Instead of $99/year I usually pay around $70.

And yes I have an iphone and love the Back to my mac features. And the thing I like best about mobileme is that everything “just works” and I don’t have to do any setup or fiddling like I would with DIY syncing services. And this functionality is why I use a mac. If I wanted to be DIY and fiddle I would still be using a PC

@Brad — I haven’t found it to ever shuffle when I didn’t want it to, but then I haven’t been jogging lately. But driving in the car and going over bumps/etc. hasn’t set it off that I’ve noticed.

If it’s like some other apps (i.e. Facebook’s) you have to be pretty deliberate in your “shaking” to get it to shuffle.

Ya i think it all sounds so great. but the only thing that i am wondering about is the shake to shuffle. What if you are jogging with your ipod and it shakes? Or if your on a bumpy road in your car? Can you turn the sake to shuffle off?

@caro: Backup hard drives can be found at just about any electronics store (i.e. Future Shop, Staples, London Drugs, etc). Just make sure Macs are supported by the brand of hard drive you’re looking at.

The memory part you’ll have to be a bit more careful about to make sure they actually support installing in Macs. Neural Net in Market Mall will definitely do it as they only service/sell Macs.

I’d add a recommendation for a Drobo — http://www.drobo.com/ — especially if you’ve got some old hard drives kicking around from past upgrades. A great way to get expandable, easy to use mass storage/backup.
